El Malecón

The malecón is Manzanillo is particularly beautiful, with sculptures like the 20 mts sailfish, and dancing fountains, as well as picturesque views of boats asail in the bay. It’s also a fine spot to sample Tuba, a sweet wine made from the sap of coconut palms or corn and coconut ice cream (Nieve de Garrafa).

Tortugario Cuyutlán

Named for its collection of rare and endangered marine turtles, this ecological center is located some 35 minutes by car from Manzanillo, and also features other living reptile species; most notably, crocodiles and iguanas.

An additional activity offered are boat tours of the Cuyutlan Lagoon. If you get there around 10:00 a.m. can be ready to take the first boat out, you will see dozens of water birds, eagles, hawks, turtles, crocs (they’re very shy). Though not connected to the sanctuary, it is a worthwhile trip.

Colima Volcano

Explore the most active volcano of Mexico from a safety zone, learn about its history, recent eruptions and dangers! Visit a Volcano caldera and a coffee plantation were you will learn about the Arabica coffee bean and the process to harvest it.

Corsarios Kids Club Water Park!

Tesoro Manzanillo has just opened the doors to its fabulous new Corsarios Kids Club. The park is situated in the resort’s beautiful gardens. Take a ride on the exciting slides and numerous pools, play games, enjoy movies, and indulge in refreshments.

Even the youngest guests at Tesoro Manzanillo will take home a wealth of happy memories.

The Corsarios Kids Club offers supervised activities around the hotel provided by trained professional counselors. Children will enjoy beach scavenger hunts, races, games and indoor fun with arts and crafts, videos, snacks and organized games.

The program is structured for children ages 4-12, and is open daily from 10:00 a.m to 2:00 p.m and 4:00 p.m to 6:00 p.m.

Following the tracks into the historic past, many years ago, pirates and conquerors, for the first time, looked upon the golden beaches of Manzanillo, with its peninsulas covered in jungles, from their big galleons on the sea. In the 16th century, Manzanillo was a tropical unspoiled paradise, formed by creeks rocky shores and coconut palm tree gardens. The native Nahuatls prospered along this fertile shore and were the first ones to receive Captain Gonzalo de Sandoval, who represented Hernán Cortés himself. The historic meeting between the Spaniards and a tribe chief was held in 1522 at the bay that, eventually, would be named La Audiencia beach, honoring this event.La Playa La Audiencia is located at Península de Santiago between Bahía de Manzanillo and Santiago. Ideal beach to practice kayak, Jet-Ski and diving. The slope and waves are always low, from the lighthouse of La Audiencia you can see beautiful panoramic views of Manzanillo.

Peña Blanca is a desert beach at km. 24, where Rancho Peña Blanca offers safari-type excursions in ATV or Jeep.
During several periods in the year, the beach closes public access so that turtles can arrive and peacefully lay their eggs; then, the beach is under volunteer and Navy personnel protection, watching that turtles are not stolen.
This area is called Peña Blanca because of a white crag, an island covered by bird guano.

Although Manzanillo is known as a peaceful, relaxing destination it also boasts a surprisingly vibrant nightlife. There are plenty of discos, bars and restaurants to keep the night hopping.

From clubs with live salsa bands to DJs spinning electronica to all-night coffee houses, there are hot spots to fit your mood. The Tesoro Manzanillo concierge can point you in the right direction for some serious fun. Some nightclubs prohibiti shorts or sandals on men, so inquire about the dress code before you make your plans.


Manzanillo is dotted by lovely shops, vendor stalls, and local markets. One shopping highlight is the Miramar Flea Market along Santiago Bay. Stock up on souvenirs like sarongs and other beach attire, silver, jewelry, and local sweets and candies.
